Installed Vista dual boot, think I screwed up!
The unknown here is, that although the Vista FSX activation was successful, you can't tell if it was activated as a reinstallation reusing the previous XP activation (same hardware), or as a second computer installation and activation because of the OS change. Now, if you never intend to install it on another

dual boot
I'm ready to install Vista business on the other 80 GB partition. I want to keep the dual boot option because I won't be using Vista solely. I'm wondering about options of installing Vista on the 2nd partition and having Virtual PC 2007 reference the 1st partition (XP) instead of installing a new OS.

Computer Backup to 2nd hard drive
Lastly Insert the recovery disk 1 reboot and to begin the Windows Vista install. When Vista is up and running most likely you will not longer be able to boot into XP. Do not worry about that. In Vista copy those files from the D partition that is the Boot.ini, ntldr, and NTDETECT.COM to the root of C Drive.

2nd Windows Vista Install
After the install, the PC would only boot into Vista and not into XP, so he (perhaps rashly) reformatted the Vista drive in order to remove it from his system. Now the PC won't boot at all from the hard drive. We have successfully booted from an XP installation CD and entered the Recovery Console.

Will Dell OEM Vista install on another Dell PC?
As I relayed earlier the first install on my AMD 64 X2 went well. Having said that, I was a little nervous the second one because it's my laptop. Microsoft's evaluator said my graphics (ATI 200M) wouldn't run Aero with acceptable performance. After some further checking I decided to try it anyway.

I am posting this because these are annoying faults with the Windows Vista Mail program. I suppose I should redownload and install the "Live" versions of programs. These days, you can get 320gb drive for around $170. So, the cost of the disk space to install vista on a 320gb drive is around $8.00. Seems reasonable to me. Unless, I completely screwed my calculation. If you want a small OS, install DOS. *sigh* Theres always one Nope that the second *sigh*

Keep in mind that the February CTP of Vista just doesn't run all that well inside of a VM. On a second note, why the heck is the mouse so choppy inside the VPC window? Is there a setting that I can change? During the Vista install? That will continue to be the case until you get Vista installed and are able to
